Kieran Forbes Seeks Justice For Alleged Defamation And Racism

Six suspects have been apprehended for the killing of Kiernan "AKA" Forbes, a renowned rapper who has won numerous awards, and his friend Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane as stated by Police Minister Bheki Cele. On February 10th, 2023, the duo was fatally shot outside Wish restaurant located in Durban. During an address to reporters on Tuesday evening, Cele indicated that the suspects were linked with other instances of homicide.

According to Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, the police commissioner of KwaZulu-Natal, investigations have revealed that the musician was trailed from his arrival at Durban's King Shaka Airport on February 10th, 2023. The surveillance continued as he moved to Umhlanga hotel and eventually reached Wish restaurant where he met with a fatal shooting incident. 

Kiernan Jarryd Forbes was born in Cape Town, South Africa 28 January 1988 into a Christian family. He is the eldest of two boys he is the older brother of Steffan Forbes. He moved to Johannesburg at a young age and attended St John's College. 

MUSIC CAREER

He and his friends, Vice Versa and Greyhound, created the Entity hip-hop music group while they were still in high school. Kiernan went to study sound engineering after the group split in 2006. In the same year, he co-founded The I.V League with two other people. The I.V League signed up artists like ProKid, Khuli Chana, and JR. In 2009, Kiernan released his three songs, In My Walk, I Do, and Mistakes, while still under the I.V label. His first album, Altar Ego, came out in 2010. Two singles from the album, All I Know and Victory Lap, became great hits in Mzansi. Kiernan's other albums include: Levels (2014); Be Careful What You Wish For (with Anatii) (2017); Touch My Blood (2018); Bhovamania (2020) 

On Thursday, the Durban Magistrate's Court will witness the debut of four suspects. According to Mkhwanazi, two suspects were apprehended in Eswatini and have not yet entered the country. He also mentioned that efforts are ongoing to track down a seventh suspect. The latest developments have not elicited any comment from the Forbes family.
