Upbringing

Mpume Nyamane, now known as Six Nyamane,born in Soweto,South Africa.Six Nyamane was raised in a humble household with her parents and three siblings. Despite the challenges of growing up in a low-income neighborhood, she excelled in school and developed a passion for acting at a young age  She became acquainted with acting during her inaugural year at university. Initially, her mother was not convinced about her decision to prioritize pursuing an acting profession rather than academics.

By persistently refining her abilities, the performer successfully secured acting opportunities. Observing her daughter's fervor for the craft, the mother eventually relented. The moniker she acquired originated from participating in minor league hockey where she played as position six on the team. Somehow, the name stuck with them as coaches referred to players by their numbers both on and off the pitch. Six Nyamane received her education from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and started playing hockey in grade 4. However, she discontinued playing after moving to Johannesburg upon completing matriculation. She enrolled for finance studies but eventually lost interest in it in just a few months' time.

Career

Her breakout role in the film industry "IZULU LAMI" earned her critical acclaim and opened door for her to work on the other major production, solidifying her status as one of the South Africa's most promising young actors.

After being complimented by a man at the gym who believed she had what it takes to be on TV, Nyamane began skipping classes to attend auditions. Her persistence paid off when she landed her first role after just one audition. Playing the role of Nozipho, a daring journalist and Nkosiyabo Cele's daughter, the actress took to the screen in Generations: The Legacy soap. Six Nyamane, a renowned South African actress and TV personality is most commonly recognized as Mpume Nyamane. Her most notable role is that of Nozipho Cele on the SABC1 television series Generations: The Legacy. 

 The thespian has made numerous appearances in theatrical, cinematic and televised presentations. On eTV's Scandal!, Six embodied the role of Buhle, who had an outspoken and sassy attitude. Additionally, she displayed her range as an actress by playing the ruthless Natasha in Blessers - a comedic movie about sugar daddies. Furthermore, Six impressed viewers with her performance as Amogelang in Rhythm City - a musical drama series.

At the 6th annual African Fashion Designer Award, she was nominated for Africa's Top Actress of the Year award. Six featured in the initial installation of Single in Soweto, alongside Bathabile Dlodlo, Mosa Kaiser, and Sindile Ramabele on the reality show. The series documents the world of dating amid the Covid-19 outbreak. In The Gang movie, she portrayed Phumeza. Buhle in Scandal, Amogelang from Rhythm City, and Shakira of Ndabazabantu were all roles played by the actress. Take Me Home saw her as Zelda while she was Tsholo in Thando lwami. Nomvula from Burnt Vhuwani and Madombolo of The Game are both theatre roles she has performed. In the regional romantic comedy Blessers, Kenneth Nkosi, Sonia Mbele, and Connie Chiume co-starred with Six Nyamane.

In recognition of her talent and contribution to the film industry,Six was nominated for the BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR at the South African film and Television Awards in 2020. Though she didn't win, her nomination solidified her status as a rising star in the entertainment world. Despite her success,Six remains humble and dedicated to improve her craft.

Six Nyamane off-screen is known for her philanthropic efforts, frequently donating to organizations that support education and healthcare in her community.A child has been born to Six Nyamane, although she hasn't revealed anything about the father of her baby in public. She is proficient in English, Zulu and Xhosa languages and possesses brown eyes.
