Subsequently, he secured the part of Andile in Rise - an original movie produced by Mzansi Magic channel- a year later.

Earning sixth place, the actor impressed judges as he competed among twelve finalists in season one of the BET reality competition Top Actor SA. In 2016, Mampofu played the lead role of Prince Phila Mbangatha in Shona Ferguson's drama series IGAZI which aired on Mzansi Magic. According to reports, Bianca Carmichael, a program manager, is in a relationship with Oros Mampofu. Their first child named Aarya Mampofu was born in 2018. Expressing his enthusiasm for soon becoming a father and sharing the experience with Bianca, the woman he loves, Mampofu revealed that they have created their own YouTube channel titled Black Love Unplugged. Hlatsi Molokomme, the socialite from South Africa was once in a romantic relationship with Oros Mampofu. Though they got engaged in 2017, their affectionate bond didn't last long and eventually fell apart.
