Orlando Pirates' Treble-Winning Season: Recognizing Excellence On and Off the Pitch

In the 2010/11 season, Orlando Pirates proved their dominance in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) by claiming the coveted treble. Led by their charismatic coach, Ruud Krol, the team showcased exceptional talent and team spirit throughout the season, securing notable victories that cemented their place in South African football history.

The 2010/11 season saw Pirates secure the treble, comprising of the Premier Soccer League title, the Nedbank Cup, and the Telkom Knockout.

Orlando Pirates clinched the 2010/11 Premier Soccer League (PSL) title with a comfortable lead of 11 points. Their impressive performance throughout the season allowed them to finish the campaign with an impressive tally of 65 points, placing them well above their nearest rival, Mamelodi Sundowns, who amassed 54 points. The significant gap between the two teams was a testament to the Pirates’ dominance and consistency throughout the season, making them the clear and worthy winners. 

Several players in the Orlando Pirates squad earned individual awards for their outstanding performances during the 2010/11 season, cementing their status as key members of the team. The following players were recognized for their contributions:

Benni McCarthy was named the PSL Player of the Season for his influential performances and important goals throughout the campaign.
